The Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), the leading retail bank in the Kingdom of Bahrain, will finance a new health center carrying its name in the Galali area, Muharraq.

The BD 3.8 million-health centre is a landmark initiative that reflects the bank’s keenness to advance its corporate social responsibility towards the Kingdom and society.

Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Minister and BBK Board of Directors Chairman, Murad Ali Murad, signed the health centre’s construction agreement, in the presence of Health Minister, Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, BBK Group Chief Executive, Dr. Abdulrahman Ali Saif, and a number of officials.

Khalaf said that the Works Ministry will oversee the design and construction of the project to ensure its conformity with local and international standards of health facilities, adding that it will be completed within 30 months.

He indicated that the project is in line with the Works Ministry’s keenness to support the Health Ministry’s plans to meet the citizens’ health needs, especially in Galali and neighbouring regions, such as Al-Dair and Samaheej.

The Health Minister said that the BBK Health Centre in Galali will be among the largest of its kind in the kingdom, expressing thanks to BBK for its constant support for the health sector in Bahrain.

She added that the new health centre is within the Health Ministry’s plans to provide health services to the citizens across the kingdom, stressing the importance of the private sector’s participation in developing society.

BBK Board Chairman said that the bank’s initiative to construct the health centre in Galali, in addition to its health centre in Hidd, is within its policies to serve the nation and the citizens, in line with the aspirations of its clients and shareholders.

BBK Group Chief Executive asserted that BBK’s keenness to provide funds for the health centre in Galali despite the challenges the banking and financial sector is facing as a result of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus proves its distinguished status in terms of performance and financing.

He affirmed that the new health centre is in line with BBK’s belief in the importance of supporting the government’s efforts in various sectors, particularly health.
